Young leaders

Last wednesday, Whaea Lucy pulled Kohl-lee, kaya, Kohatu and I out of maths for our young leaders conference that was held in Kaikohe at the Ngapuhi social services, opposite the New World. From my perspective, it was a wonderful day. At first we were all absolutely shy but when the day started to past by we got used to everyone's company. We started off with a Karakia and himene, next we all introduced ourselves. By this time, Okaihau started their ice breaker. Okaihau's ice-breaker was a game where you had to introduce yourself and explain to the group, something you like to eat starting with the first letter of your name. It was a nervracking game, although we did in fact become a bit less shy. We all had a turn at doing ice-breakers as well. Our ice-breaker was colour and Rawene Ice-breaker was a game were you had to get into groups of six and you had to grab someone else's hand so that your team became tangled. It was a very hard task. Our group lost but it was great fun. Soon later, we had lunch it was great. We had pizza, cakes, brownies, chips, fruit, biscuits, savoury pies, buns and many yummy refreshments. We had a great time at lunch because the room wasn't even nearly silent. It was full with excitement and laughter. After lunch, we all returned back into the room with full tummies. At that time, it was Whangarei's turn to introduce their ice-breaker. Their ice-breaker was musical chairs. It was tough, Kohl-lee,Kohatu and I were the last 3 but then all of a sudden, Kohl-lee and I got Kohatu out. Kohl-lee and I were the last two competitors. I think we drawed and both won, I can't exactly remember because I was so dizzy. Thanks for reading!!
